15 Additions to the Rock and Roll Lexicon
Earlier this year, the publishers of the Shorter Oxford English Dictionary unveiled a massive revision to the standard reference work. Among the additions to the volume was a phrase from Spinal Tap: the phrase "(to) go up to eleven" has now entered the recognized lexicon.
We at Splendid, ever-mindful of opportunities to make a contribution to the English language at large, would like to suggest a few other phrases from the rock 'n' roll vernacular (and our own in-house lingo) that might be well-suited for broader usage...

Wat te denken van fraaie voorstellen als:
Interviewing the Drummer:
To accomplish a task, but at so pathetically low a level that you might as well have failed.
Usage: "How'd you do on the test?" "I totally interviewed the drummer. I'll be lucky to get by with a D."

en
Buddyheading:
To finance an enterprise of dubious quality via a sideline business of questionable legality.
Usage: Neil Buddyheaded his way through HVAC school by peddling dime bags to his fellow students."

Nog geen reactie gelezen bij Buddyhead, overigens.
De mooiste toevoeging aan het woordenboek is uiteraard
Supporting Your Local Indie Music Scene:
Getting laid. Usage: "I hurried to the men's room and bought the most expensive condom in the machine, but when I returned, Britta Phillips was nowhere to be found. So much for Supporting My Local Indie Music Scene."
