50 Uncoolest Records
(That We Love), zetten ze er dan nog laf onder. Na de 50 Coolest Records van vorige maand, brengt Rolling Stone deze maand The 50 Uncoolest Records. Wat Evhead tot het wijze commentaar verleidt dat "They should have a quiz where you mark which ones you have and see if you have more cool ones or uncool ones (whether or not that extrapolates to your coolness would be open for interpretation)."

Dit is de Top 10 of Uncool:
1. The Carpenters - Live at The Palladium (1976)
2. Andrew WK - I Get Wet (2002)
3. Biz Markie - The Biz Never Sleeps (1989)
4. Bread - The Best of Bread (1972)
5. Accept - Balls To The Wall (1984)
6. Freddie and The Dreamers - Freddie and The Dreamers (1963)
7. Neil Diamond - Velvet Gloves and Spit (1968)
8. Weezer - Weezer (1994)
9. The Fifth Dimension - Up, Up and Away (1967)
10. Various Artists - Freedom Rock (1987)

Als je dacht dat ik de rest ook uit ging typen: tough luck. Wel nog een klein slipje van de sluier: ook in de lijst staat Venom's At War With Satan. Hierover wordt geschreven:
Venom's Rubber Soul, their Born to Run. This album simultaneously established the black metal genre and made its definitive statement.
Sounds like: Blacker-than-the-pits-of-hell. Howling, rumbling and screeching, mostly, with lyrics like "Run like hell, in Hell."
Best song: How can you go wrong with "Aaaaaaarrgh"?

Een andere topper is Haircut One Hundred:
Being the wimpiest New Wave band was not easy, but the well-sweatered Haircut One Hundred were up to the task. Even the Thompson Twins must've thought these guys were pussies

NB: (CDNow toont bij At War With Satan in al haar onschuld de banner Give the greatest gifts for Mother's Day.)
