Mogwai's Stuart Braithwaite works with Arab Strab's Aidan Moffat Under Sick Anchors Guise
berichtte Pitchfork afgelopen vrijdag:
"Arab Strap's drunken mumbler Aiden Moffat and everyone's favorite Blur-hater, Mogwai's Stuart Braithwaite, are set to release an EP of "stripped-down, atmospheric" covers under the band name the Sick Anchors. Teaming up with keyboard maestro Sheepy, the two Scottish frontmen cover "Whole Again" (a UK #1 for the fiesty Liverpudlian trio Atomic Kitten), the Smiths-ish "Bill Is Dead" (from the Fall's 1989 Extricate) and "You Always Hurt the One You Love" (written by the Mills Brothers, circa 1930). The EP will be released on Lost Dog Recordings in the UK on April 22nd.

While little more is known about this "mysterious collective," the Sick Anchors are already planning a follow-up to the Whole Again EP-- possibly comprising covers of Shakira's "Wherever, Whenever" and perhaps some 16th century chamber music."
